Former President Donald TRUMP indicated potential restrictions on the export of Nvidia's advanced Blackwell AI chips during a CBS 60 Minutes interview. The move aims to reserve cutting-edge technology for domestic use, reinforcing U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence. "The new Blackwell is 10 years ahead of every other chip," Trump remarked aboard Air Force One. "We don’t give that to other people."

While China wasn’t explicitly named, the remarks align with longstanding U.S. concerns about AI chip diversion to military applications. House Select Committee on China Chairman John Moolenaar likened unrestricted exports to "handing Iran weapons-grade uranium." A broader ban could extend beyond China, disrupting global access to Nvidia’s latest products.
